DAI

Background:
The
purpose of USAID’s Feed the Future Tanzania Advancing Youth (AY) project is to
use positive youth development approaches to empower rural Tanzanian youth and
educate them on viable business options for rural economies, highlighting the
income-generating potential across agricultural and other rural value chains
and facilitating access to information, skills, and opportunities to ensure
successful business start-ups and sustained employment.

Job
Title: Livelihood development Intern
Reporting
to: Livelihood Component Lead
Location:
Dar es Salaam
Duration:
Full time for 6 months
Purpose
of the job: Support the implementation of the livelihood component activities
in Iringa, Mbeya and Zanzibar
Duties
and Responsibilities
The
livelihood development Intern will participate in the following activities;
S/he
will:
- Support Monitoring & Evaluation of field activities – data collection, verification, data entry processes.
- Tracking progress of the Community Mobilizers (CMs) and reporting their monthly activities.
- Assist in the maintenance of data, information, files and folders related to grantees and other livelihood activities.
- Support drafting the components weekly updates and monthly reports.
- Support the components success stories compilation.
- Work with grantees to ensure that deliverables are met and activities are operating within standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with Leadership and Lifeskills technical teams as well as grantees to intergrate youth within all components
- Support planning and logistical arrangements for events and other livelihood activities.
- Perform any other official duties assigned by supervisor.
Required
Qualifications
The
Livelihood component is seeking candidates with the following qualifications
- Holders of Bachelor degree in Economics, Agricultural economics and agribusiness, Development Economics, Rural and and Regional development Planning and other related studies.
- Demonstrate volunteering or initiative taking in their communities.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced professional working environment.
- Detail oriented, well organized and responsive.
- Quick learner.
- Punctual and reliable with a commitment to learning and self-improvement.
- Strong written and verbal (English) communication skills.
- Basic computer skills (able to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
At
the end of contract period, the Intern will need to submit a brief report on
their observations, learning and experience
Applicants

Tanzanian citizens

Aged
between 20 to 30 years
·
Have
graduated in the last two (2) years.
